P.E Intent Vision

At Crabtree Farm, we provide an exciting and varied PE curriculum designed to give our children the knowledge, behaviours and skills to lead an active, healthy lifestyle.

P.E Curriculum at Crabtree Farm

At Crabtree Farm we support our teaching of the National Curriculum for Physical Education, through the use of the 'real PE' scheme of work and lessons with our dedicated Sports Coach, Mr Kiggins. The two progression documents detail how the children's skills and knowledge will develop during their time in primary school. Have a look to see what your child is learning in P.E!

Our Learning in P.E

In Year 1 and 2 we have been using the gymnastics apparatus. We have been learning how to balance, travel, climb and land safely. We have developed our skills into a sequence. Part of our learning has been developing our cognitive skills. This involves explaining what we can do well and how to improve what we are doing. We have been reflecting on what is good in our sequence performances.

In Year 3, we have been developing our throwing and catching skills in our PE lessons. We used a range of different sized balls, worked on our own and with our friends to prepare ourselves to participate in some fun games of handball.  We have made so much progress already and are really good at catching. We will continue to practise our throwing and catching skills over the next few weeks.
